Women of colour have to struggle the most to get promoted

According to a study, Women in the Workplace 2016, conducted by LeanIn.Org and McKinsey, women have to struggle much harder than their male counterparts to get a promotion even in these changing times. It’s even worse for women of colour, who find it difficult to find an inclusive workspace.

The study also shows that women have to negotiate more for a raise and are less likely to get informal advice from their seniors. As the rank of the post increases, the fewer women you find, with only 19 per cent in C-suite positions.

Based on data from more than 130 companies and over 34,000 men and women, the study can be read in detail in this article by McKinsey and Company .
