6th Indian Management Conclave to be held at ISB

Conclave to be based on theme ‘enhancing B-school competitiveness’

The sixth edition of the Indian Management Conclave (IMC) 2015 will held at the Indian School of Business in its Hyderabad campus from July 29 to July 30. The theme for the conclave is ‘enhancing B-school competitiveness’. ISB is the partner of the event organised by MBAUniverse.com.

IMC is a platform for MBA educators and decision-makers at B-schools and universities to discuss the issues facing the Indian MBA and different approaches and opportunity areas to improve and collaborate. The conference will host discussions on topics such as ‘enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes’; ‘making industry-institute partnerships work: lessons from successful collaborations’; ‘enhancing global competitiveness by developing Asian management thinking’ and ‘innovations in teaching methodology’.

Amit Agnihotri, Convener, IMC, and Founder, MBAUniverse.com, said, “Management education in India is emerging from an unprecedented crisis. Oversupply and commoditisation of the MBA programme in India has led to a massive shakeout in the last five years. While the universe is still large, only 100 odd serious management education entities have withstood the struggle and come out as survivors. Amongst them, forward looking institutions are now looking for ways to enhance their competitiveness. IMC 2015 will brainstorm on strategies for enhancing their competitiveness.”

Ajit Rangnekar, Dean, ISB, said the conclave will set the stage for thinking anew, breaking away from pre-conceived notions and experiment with radically different ideas. Several top business leaders and academics and directors of top B-schools are expected to participate.

One of the highlights will be the IMC Awards, which will document and recognise the successful initiatives by Indian B-schools. More than 50 leading B-schools will participate. Top 10 nominations will be presented at IMC conference sessions. IMC Awards 2015 Jury is chaired by Shekhar Chaudhuri, Former Director, IIM Calcutta, and winners will be felicitated by Dilip Shanghvi, MD, Sun Pharmaceuticals, at the IMC Valedictory session.
