Amazon top recruiter in IIMA placements with 14 offers

Traction in B2B and B2C segment grows as Walmart, Purplle.com enter the fray to make offers

The e-commerce major Amazon emerged as the top recruiter at the second cluster of the Summer Placements for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) batch of 2022 at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. A large pool of recruiters of over 40 firms participated online in the second cluster on Friday which comprised of seven cohorts — advertising and media, consumer electronics, consumer goods and durables, consumer services, conglomerates, retail B2B & B2C and Pharma– health care.

Top recruiter on Friday was Amazon from the retail B2B and B2C cohort with 14 offers, while Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) made 13 offers. Besides Amazon, other players in the Retail B2B & B2C space were Cloudtail, eShakti, Flipkart, Grofers, and Prione. The cohort also saw some new recruiters including Walmart Global Tech and Purplle.com.

Pharma and healthcare

Among the recruiters from Pharma and health care cohort, besides the regular players Indigene, Stryker and Dr Reddy’s, new recruiters such as Cipla, Philips and Bayer also made offers. Consumer goods and durables included regular recruiters like AB InBev, Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, Colgate, Dabur, HUL, ITC, Kimberly Clark, Mondelez, Nestle, P&G, Puma, Reckitt Benckiser, and Wipro Consumer Care amongst others.

Consumer electronics

Tata Sky and Airtel were from the consumer services cohort with Airtel making five offers. Samsung Electronics and Lenovo participated in the Consumer Electronics cohort, where Samsung made six offers. Among the recruiters from Conglomerates cohort were, diversified players like Adani Group, Aditya Birla Group, Bajaj Group, JSW, Mahindra Group, RPG Group and TAS, which was the top recruiter in the cohort with seven offers. The third cluster will be held on December 7, 2020.
