ASSOCHAM recognises BITS Pilani for Best Use of ICT

Second award for the institute since November '14

BITS Pilani has bagged ASSOCHAM National Excellence Award for ‘Best Use of ICT in Education’ by a University in India. The award recognises BITS's leadership in using ICT in BITSAT, ERP, TelePresence-based network of classrooms across its four campuses; its efforts to introduce electronic attendance system for students, and MOOC-based courses.

The award was presented by Ram Shankar Katheria, Minister of State for Human Resource Development (Higher Education) at the 8th ASSOCHAM Education Summit & National Excellence Awards 2015 function, held at New Delhi.

The institution participated in the ASSOCHAM National Excellence Awards for the first time, which is instituted for recognising best practices in delivering quality education in India. The award follows BITS bagging the ‘Excellence in ICT integration’ award from Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) during the first ‘FICCI Higher Education Awards 2014’ ceremony held in November 2014 in New Delhi.
