‘Build 4 Cs: character, calibre, capacity and conduct’

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu gave diplomas to the graduating PGDM students of BIMTECH

BIMTECH held the convocation for its PGDM 2016-18 class on April 11. As many as 423 students were awarded their postgraduate degrees at a huge gathering in India Exposition Mart in Greater Noida.

The Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, was the Chief Guest of the ceremony, which was declared open by Jayashree Mohta, Chairperson, Board of Directors, Birla Group.

According to him, “Twenty-first century India has got some extraordinary talent which the youth must upgrade from time to time so that they excel in the corporate world.” He emphasised on the the four positive Cs that students should build — character, calibre, capacity and conduct. He further urged students to ‘Reform, Perform, and Transform’, and become worthy citizens of the country.

He also asked students to remember that education should not be for commission, but to instil values, while enocouraging them to be job creators instead of being job seekers. “This process might give temporary pain but will deliver long-term gains,” he said, and quoted former President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam: One should aim high and work hard for it.

The Vice President also appreciated BIMTECH for its endeavours and said knowledge has no frontiers. “One must care for the ones close to us and work for the betterment of the society.”

The students were delighted at receiving their diplomas from the Vice President himself.

Dr H Chaturvedi, Director of the institute presented the annual report.

~ Roncy Sara Thomas in PGDM-Operations

— Yashoda Jaju Memorial Medal — 2018, for all-round best performance among female students was conferred on Shallika Singh

— Madhuri J Sheth award for best academic performance among female students was awarded to Tanvi Jain

— Madhuri J Sheth award for best academic performance among female students of PGDM (International Business) was given to Shallika Singh

— Sarla Devi Birla award for best Best Chiraiya (BIMTECH’s life skills education programme) was given to Sujata Gautam

— Jagdish N Sheth award for Best Thesis was bestowed on Amarendra Pande and Himanshu Gupta
