Consulting roles rule at IIM Trichy final placements

Slew of new recruiters among 119 companies offering 186 roles; average package is ₹14.96 lakh

IIM Trichy has successfully completed the final placement process for students of its PG programme (PGP) in management for the batch 2018-20, says a press release from the B-school.

The campus saw participation from new recruiters such as McKinsey & Co, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Franklin Templeton, AstraZeneca, Reliance Industries, ONGC and Frost & Sullivan and regular recruiters like JP Morgan & Chase, Deloitte, L&T, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, Avalon Consulting, Godrej, TAFE, Value Labs, GMR Group, Shell, Amazon,Ultra Tech Cement, to name a few.

Recruiters offered roles across various domains such as finance, sales and marketing, consulting and and analytics and operations. This year the institute witnessed participation from 119 companies offering over 186 roles to the students with the placements successfully getting over by March.

While 173 students registered for placement, the number of offers made is 186 with 119 companies participating. The highest annual compensation offered is ₹25 lakh while the average annual compensation across all domains is ₹14.96 lakh.

There is a rise of 26 per cent in the number of companies participating in the final placements over last year, says the release. There has been an increase in the median annual compensation by 12 per cent compared to last year. The average annual compensation of students placed in the finance domain has seen a rise of 18 per cent over last year. The roles were offered across domains of product management, brand management, investment banking, equity research, associate consultant and associate director.

Consulting and analytics offered the most with 38 per cent, while sales and marketing is 31 per cent and finance 23.7 per cent.

Prof Ayon Chakraborty, Placement Chairperson, said: “Our final placement figures show our strengthening relationships with the companies and their belief in IIM Trichy.
