Dean of NYU Stern joins Krea University academic council

Raghu Sundaram will play a key role in guiding Krea’s vision for interwoven learning and research

Krea University announced the appointment of Raghu Sundaram, Dean and Edward I Altman Professor of Credit and Debt Markets, New York University’s Leonard N Stern School of Business, to its academic council.

 

 

 

 

On joining Krea University as an academic council member, Dean Sundaram said, “In today’s change driven world, it’s important to adapt, evolve and experiment. Along with my eminent colleagues in the council, I envision a more vibrant and globally relevant learning experience at Krea which in turn empowers graduates to lead the change.”

He has published extensively in mathematical economics, decision theory, and game theory. As an academic researcher and author of two books, A first course in Optimization Theory and Derivatives: Principles and Practice, Dean Sundaram will play a key role in the council. Sunder Ramaswamy, Vice Chancellor, Krea University, said “Krea University is delighted to have Raghu Sundaram, a renowned scholar and academic administrator, joining its academic council. Raghu will play a key role, working with his colleagues in the academic council, in guiding Krea University’s vision for interwoven learning and research.”

Dean Sundaram has taught courses across Stern’s Undergraduate, MBA, PhD, and Executive education programmes. Of all the awards he has received over the years, he is most proud of being the inaugural recipient of Stern’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2007. He has a long record of service to the School and the University, including as chair of the Tenured and Tenure-track Faculty Senators Council and as a member of NYU’s Presidential Search Committee in 2014.

Raghu Sundaram joins council members, including, Dr Raghuram Rajan, Vishaka Desai, John W Etchemendy, Manjul Bhargava, Tara Thiagarajan, Srinathan Raghavan, and Jessica Seddon.
