Diverse batch of 364 XIMB students bag summer internships

Placed across 91 companies in manufacturing, FMCG, BFSI, consulting, IT and analytics

The summer internship placement process of the MBA-BM batch of 2018-2020 at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar concluded with the batch of 364 students being successfully placed.

It is a diverse batch, with 49 per cent of the students having prior work-experience in IT/ITES, 19 per cent in Manufacturing, 12 per cent in Analytics, 8 per cent in Consulting and 4 per cent in BFSI. Students in the batch have an average work-experience of 19 months and 82 per cent of students have a BE/BTech degree, 3 per cent have a BA, and 7 per cent B.Com. With increasing gender diversity, this year, the batch comprised 32 per cent women and 68 per cent men.

A total of 91 companies offered internships with 21 per cent in manufacturing, 19 per cent each in BFSI and Consulting, 18 per cent in IT/ITES/Analytics, and 16 per cent each in FMCG. The highest stipend is ₹3.2 lakh while the median stipend is ₹60,000.

The average stipend, which increased by 17 per cent from last year, stood at ₹71,000. A look at the stream-wise student placement shows that 9 per cent of the batch has been placed in operations, 12 per cent in systems, 19 per cent in finance, 38 per cent in FMCG, 22 per cent in consulting.
