Dr Suresh Ramanathan is new Dean at Great Lakes

IIM Calcutta alumnus and US-based academician succeeds Founder-Dean Bala V Balachandran

Great Lakes Institute of Management has appointed renowned US-based management academician Dr Suresh Ramanathan as its new Dean. Dr Ramanathan succeeds Founder and Dean Dr Bala V Balachandran, a Padma Shri awardee, who will continue to guide the institution as its Chairman and Dean Emeritus.

Dr Ramanathan is an eminent scholar and professor of marketing with an academic experience of nine years at the top-ranked Booth School of Business at University of Chicago, and eight years at Texas A&M University’s Mays School of Business as an Endowed Chair Professor. He has a B.Tech from IIT Delhi, an MBA from IIM Calcutta and a Ph.D holder from the NYU’s Stern School of Business. Dr Ramanathan is a leading academic expert on consumer emotions and motivation. His work is cited in the academic literature and he has received coverage in popular press, such as New York Times, CBS News, Los Angeles Times , and Science Daily .
