FMCG firms offer highest internship stipends at MICA

Highest stipend at ₹3.5 lakh for a two-month internship period; 67 firms participated in the process.

MICA records 100 per cent placements for the 28th batch of its flagship PGDM-C and PGDM programmes. 67 firms participated in the summer placement process virtually. The batch comprised 38 per cent engineers, 33 per cent commerce graduates, 7 per cent from arts and humanities background, 7 per cent from media, and 16 per cent from other disciplines. In terms of offers, the IT/ITES sector made 56 offers followed by media and advertisement, and the FMCG sector at 49 and 30 offers respectively.

Sunshine sectors

The institute has witnessed an increase in the highest stipend offered to its students for the two-month summer placements. The FMCG sector offered the highest stipend at ₹3.5 lakh compared to ₹3.2 lakh last year, followed by the IT sector offering ₹2.5 lakhs compared to ₹2.4 lakh last year. The media and advertising sector recorded the highest stipend at ₹1.6 lakh. Of the 178 students who participated in summer placements, 48.9 per cent were women, and 51.1 per cent were men.

Madhu Mohan TS, Head, Corporate and Alumni Relations, MICA, said, “The general sentiment of industry returning to pre-pandemic times and specific segments looking for talent has helped the students land in reputed organisations with increased numbers, roles, and stipends. EdTech, fintech, and agritech are the sunshine sectors that are eyeing for talent. We are hopeful that the final placements will also be a hybrid model.”

Roles and recruiters

Students were offered internships in sales and marketing, digital engagement, brand digital strategy, and marketing, market research, business development, corporate relations, online marketing, strategic research, and market analysis.The recruiters include LÓreal, ITC Ltd, Mahindra Group, Microsoft, The Coca Cola Company, Flipkart, Google India, Nivea, Tata Consumer Products Ltd, Procter & Gamble, Diageo, among others.

New recruiters include The Coca Cola Company, Microsoft, Intel India, Astrum, Adani Solar, Wonderlab, Zoo Media, Society Tea, Redbus, CoinDCX, Cupshup, Gartner, Gameberry Labs, Agri10x, Manash Lifestyle Pvt Ltd (Purplle.com), Zyla Health, Council of Energy, Environment, and Water, CimCon Software India Pvt Ltd, among others.
