The Edtech company Great Learning has collaborated with the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas, Austin for its post-graduate programme in cloud computing. This six-month online course is co-created and co-delivered by faculty and industry experts from Great Learning and the University of Texas - McCombs School of Business.
Focus on cloud tech
The programme aims to build careers in cloud computing and obtain a comprehensive understanding of more than 90 cloud services for the learners. The learning outcomes include becoming proficient in working with all major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. IT professionals working outside of cloud technologies will gain a solid foundation, while those with some cloud experience will gain a more structured and hands-on understanding of cloud technologies such as migration, security, deployment, integration, platform choice, and architecture.
Suited for working professionals
The programme also skills learners with additional resources to help them crack the AWS and Azure certifications. The programme provides a “360° understanding of cloud computing and is designed to produce highly-qualified professionals in emerging cloud technologies,” says a press release from the Edtech platform. It is best suited for working professionals in IT and tech roles having more than years of experience
It will prepare professionals for roles such as Cloud engineer, AWS engineer, DevOps engineer, Cloud consultant, Cloud pre-sales consultant, Cloud developer, and Cloud Solutions architect.
Upskilling to remain relevant
Arjun Nair, Co-founder, Great Learning said, “Over the last few years, we have seen an increase in SAAS-based platforms, which have enabled technologies like cloud computing to become mainstream in the IT industry. With the current pandemic the world is facing, a lot of industries have adopted cloud technology for efficient functioning; thereby expecting the market to reach $832.1 billion by 2025.”
Joint certification
As per the 2021 Best Business Schools rankings by US News Business School Compass, the University of Texas is ranked 18th in the US. The rankings were based on the performance of the university across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence.
Post successful completion of the programme, students will receive dual certification from the University of Texas at Austin and Great Lakes Executive Learning. The company will also provide career enhancement services to the students by offering them career guidance, live mentoring by seasoned industry experts, and access to Great Learning's Job Board in addition to help with resume/CV review.
Furthermore, Great Learning will conduct a grand networking event — Great Learning Confluence, in which alumni, mentors and faculty, come together to share their experiences and insights.
