IFIM leverages long industry internships for placements

Converts 62 per cent of such projects into jobs for students; completes 100 per cent placements

IFIM Business School, an AACSB-accredited b-school based in Bengaluru, has converted 62 per cent of its industry internship projects into final placement. . Integrated into the curriculum of the PGDM programme, the industry internship model enables students with full-time employment by the end of the course. The B-school had successfully completed 100 per cent placements before the placement cycle in top companies like Schneider Electric, Arcesium, Cushman & Wakefield, Square Yards, Deloitte, TCS, FedEx, Oracle and many others, says a press release.

For this year, internship and placement processes have been completed on a virtual mode with the highest remuneration of ₹19.5 lakh per annum and an average of ₹8 lakh per annum. With specialisation in finance, business analytics, marketing, human resources, and international business, the 23rd batch of the PGDM conquered a successful placement process after completion of their internship.

Engagement driven approach

The B-school has dedicated the entire final term of the programme to four-and-a-half months of internship with experiential learning leading to a better career opportunity. This not only facilitates students with on-ground experience, but also helps them appreciate the domain and functional knowledge of the industry, making the internship programme highly effective. Students also need to complete the on-campus academic courses, wellness programmes, live projects, social immersion programme, research and innovation incubation as part of the PGDM programme. The unique approach to recruitment involving long duration internship by students allows recruiters to engage with students over an extended period and absorb them as employees, post successful completion of their internship.
