IIM Bangalore and IIT Bombay to host conference on the future of learning

Keynote address to be delivered by Nandan Nilekani

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay will be jointly organising the ‘Future of Learning Conference 2018’, to be held at IIM Bangalore on January 15 and 16. The conference aims to meaningful dialogue between academics, policy-makers, and technologists on the impacts and implications of digitisation of the learning spaces.

The institutions intend to host the conference annually.

Through multiple plenary sessions, panel discussions, and paper presentation, the conference will attempt to establish connections across three major dimensions of the future of learning — namely pedagogy, policy, and technology. The conference is supported by institutional partners such as NPTEL, British Council, NSRCEL and SWAYAM, and is co-chaired by Professor Deepak Phatak from IIT Bombay and Professor PD Jose from IIM Bangalore.

The keynote address will be delivered by Nandan Nilekani and the conference will also feature more than 50 education leaders from industry and academia. With multiple research and practitioner tracks for paper presentations, over 30 academics will be sharing research insights on the future of learning. The conference will be followed by a post-conference workshop for a select group of faculty on MOOC Production and will be conducted by IIM-B faculty and MOOC experts.
