IIM Calcutta welcomes 55th PGP batch

IIM-C alumnus and Indian Ambassador to Bhutan Jaideep Sarkar attended the event

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta inducted 463 students to its 55th PGP batch. The landmark ceremony was graced by Jaideep Sarkar, Indian Ambassador to Bhutan. Prof BN Srivastava, Director-in-Charge, IIM-C, addressed the new batch of students.

In his speech, Prof Srivastava chose to shed light on the importance of hard work. He said that it is important to sort out priorities, organise oneself, and make an effort; after that, everything else will follow.

Sarkar, the chief guest and a proud alumnus of the institution, engaged in an interactive session with the new students. He reminisced about his time at the institution. He boosted the confidence of students and asked them to venture beyond the corporate world. He further went on to say that his career has been largely shaped by management education as he met people from different walks of life and learnt about ’excellence’ at IIM Calcutta.
