IIM Calcutta wins Mi Summit case study competition

A duo from IIM Calcutta — Umang Agarwal and G Rohan — won the fourth edition of 'Mi Summit,' a business case study competition organised by Xiaomi India, and bagged ₹2 lakh as cash prize. A team from XLRI — Aman Garg and Param Mehta were the runners-up, and they won a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.

The grand finale witnessed 12 teams compete to solve three problems (offline sales, online sales, and category management) along with the usability and application in the real business environment, at Xiaomi India headquarters in Bengaluru.

Top B-schools participate

The top 12 teams consisted of participants from B-schools such as FMS - University of Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIM Raipur, MICA, Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar, IIM Calcutta, IIM Amritsar, XLRI Jamshedpur, IIM Kashipur, MDI Gurgaon, and IIM Udaipur. The finale was judged by an esteemed panel from Xiaomi’s leadership team.

The fourth edition received registrations from 11,000+ students across the top 27 B-schools pan-India. The competition was structured in four stages. The programme commenced with a quiz round, followed by a campus round wherein the top ten teams from each of the 30 campuses participated.

The finalists were divided into six clusters for the next round. The top 12 teams from the cluster round moved to the grand finale To encourage students, all cluster winners and runners-up were awarded a Mi Soundbar and Redmi SonicBass Wireless Earphones along with a PPI offer. Launched in 2019, over 17,000 students have participated in Mi Summit till date.
