IIM Indore introduces two online learning programmes

Both the courses provide an opportunity to understand fintech and the ongoing digital transformation

IIM Indore inaugurated two online learning programmes — Certificate Programme in Fintech and Financial Blockchain (CPFFB) and Executive Programme in Digital Transformation (EPDT) — in collaboration with TSW Times Professional Learning on January 23. The inauguration took place virtually in the presence of Prof Ranjeet Nambudiri, Dean-Programmes, IIM Indore; Prof Prashant Salwan, Chairperson, Executive Education; Prof Shubhamoy Dey, Programme Coordinator-CPFFB; Prof Saurabh Kumar; Prof Sanjog Ray, Faculty Coordinators-EPDT; Anish Srikrishna, CEO, TSW Times Professional Learning; and all the participants registered for the programme.

New skills

Prof Ranjeet Nambudiri welcomed the batches and mentioned that there could be no better time to enrol in online programmes. Sharing his views, he said that every business is trying to become a digital enterprise because transformation allows in connecting better with customers, and it has become an integral part of business strategy today. “It is not just about tech implementation in a firm but it is about bringing in a mindset change,” he said. Discussing fintech and financial blockchain, he said, India is the fastest growing market in terms of fintech and digital transactions. Despite the pandemic, the rate at which India is growing is remarkable.

Prof Prashant Salwan said, “The programme provides an opportunity to gain the skill sets required to navigate and implement the era of digital transformation." Discussing fintech, he noted that finance has been upgraded — specially in banking sector. “This programme will be beneficial in understanding these changes and bringing finance experts together on the same platform with this new and diverse batch.”

Evolution of fintech

The faculty coordinators of the respective programmes shared insights on the course curriculum. They noted that the institute ensures to update the curriculum in a way which is contextually relevant and helpful for the working executives. They discussed how digital transformation and fintech has evolved and created an impact in our daily lives, such as reducing the time spent on various tasks, eliminating the location constraints, and expanding reach. They mentioned that both the programmes have participants from diverse fields which would enable them to learn from each others experiences as well.

Anish Srikrishna, CEO, TSW Times Professional Learning, congratulated the participants for choosing this programme. He noted that IIM Indore has been ranked seventh in the NIRF Ranking and is a B-school with triple crown accreditation. “This programme’s rich curriculum will be beneficial for the participants ; the batch has a mix of students from diverse educational backgrounds and cultures,” he said. He added that fintech was used for back office functions earlier, but now it has transformed the way banks operate. “Fintech has taken centre stage with emphasis on mobile user interfaces.”  The event concluded with an interaction session.
