IIM Kozhikode sweeps Kochi semi-finals

The runners-up were a second team from the institute

A team comprising the duo of Shekhar Shrivastava and Pankhuri Sethiya from Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) won the Kochi leg of the BLoC Boardroom Challenge 2020. It was a clean sweep for IIMK as the runner up too is from IIMK with Shashank Naruka, Prachi Sabavat and Aditi Verma the team members.

The contest featured three teams in the Kochi round as a team that qualified, Government Victoria College, pulled out. A team comprising Vishnu S, Joseph John and Pratibha Reji Nair from SMS CUSAT was the second runners-up. The students had to present a branding strategy for an FMCG brand and also discuss how this brand could shore up its falling market shares in emerging categories.

The teams were scored on their understanding and analysis of the case, the case solution, their presentations and also on team work. IIMK will now meet the winners of the semi-finals from other eight cities in the finals. The jury for the semi-finals comprised KS Rao, Senior Vice President & Head, Investor Education & Distribution Development, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd, S Sivakumar, a people performance analyst and executive coach, and Sudhakar Rao, Director, Branding, ICFAI group.
