IIM Ranchi wins Deloitte’s Maverick

Over 15,500 students from leading business schools across the country participated

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi has won Deloitte's industry-academia connect programme – Maverick this year.

Over 15,500 management students from leading business schools across the country participated, and the evaluation was based on unconventional thinking, a solutions mindset, leadership behaviours and client service competencies.

“With this generation, a constant would be learning - not just in terms of what could be taught to them, but also what could be learnt from them,” said SV Nathan, Senior Director and Chief Talent Officer, Deloitte India according to a press statement.

“We are confident that their thinking and aptitude will only add to better Deloitte’s client service and delivery.”

Participants are challenged to experience the life of a consultant and demonstrate new-age competencies that define success in the corporate world during the competition. Conducted in a multi-stage elimination format, Deloitte’s Maverick Season IV had over 2,000 shortlisted teams participating.

Apart from the main business solutions challenge, three additional competitions were held on the sidelines of Maverick.

The ‘War of Bands’ saw bands from various schools pit their musical skills against each other. The winner of War of Bands was ISB, Hyderabad.

‘Be the One’ – a unique contest where students shared their personal story of successes/ achievements that helped shape them into the person they are, saw several participants step up and share their stories.

‘Roll the Reel’ was the third contest aimed at providing students with the opportunity to unleash their creative skills leveraging videos and new-age motion graphics, to depict their idea of an ideal place to work at. Roll the Reel was won by XIM, Bhubaneswar and IMT, Ghaziabad.
