IIM Trichy holds felicitation ceremony

Be worthy of praise and receptive of criticism, says Director Pawan Kumar Singh.

Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIM Trichy) felicitated the best performers of PGPM 2018-2020, 2019-2021 batches, and PGPBM 2017-19, 2018-2020 batches with gold medals and certificates in the felicitation ceremony. The event was both offline and online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The event began with an invocation and the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Dean-Academics, IIM Tiruchirappalli. He congratulated the medal winners on their achievements and spoke about them being the bridge between the institute and the industry. He also stressed upon the importance of application of classroom learning in real life.

Dr Pawan Kumar Singh, Director, IIM Tiruchirappalli, emphasised the significance of invoking positive cosmic energies from our surrounding and stressed the importance of attaining physical, mental, and spiritual peace. He urged students to strive to be worthy of praise and receptive of criticism, and gave them insights about the levels of authority and responsibility at different points during one’s career. He also gave examples of how experience is the best teacher, and wished them luck for their future endeavours. This was followed by the award ceremony.

Medal winners

The Chairperson, PGPM, Prof Alok Kumar Singh announced the year-wise gold Medallists for excellent academic performance. From PGPM 2018-20 batch, Navisa J was awarded the Chariperson’s gold medal and ICSI signature award for securing first rank, and Punjab National Bank gold medal for first rank among women students. Vadlamudi Swetha was awarded Director’s gold medal for securing second rank and Kotak Securities gold medal for the best all round performance. Karthigeyan R was awarded Canara Bank gold medal for securing third rank.

From PGPM 2019-21 batch Narala Tejaswini was awarded the Chairperson’s gold medal and ICSI signature award for securing first rank, Punjab National Bank gold medal for first rank among women students, and HDFC Bank gold medal for academic proficiency in marketing. Karusala Srivaishnavi was awarded Director’s gold medal for securing second rank.

Chairperson PGPBM, Prof Karthik Dhandapani announced the gold medallists for PGPBM students. In PGPBM 2017-19 batch, Kayalvizhi S was awarded Chairperson’s gold medal for securing first rank. From PGPBM 2018-20 batch, Arasuprakash S was awarded Chairperson’s gold medal for securing first rank, and Kamalaganesh T was awarded Director’s gold medal for securing second rank. The medals were conferred to the winners by the Director Pawan Kumar Singh.
