IIM Trichy has been ranked 15th among all B-schools in the country as per the NIRF 2020 ranking e-released by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, on June 11, 2020. Based on the ranking, IIM Trichy positions itself just after the first generation IIMs and IIM Trichy also emerges as first among the second generation IIMs, says a press release from the B-school.
National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a methodology that ranks institutions of higher education in India based on several parameters such as teaching, learning, utilisation of resources, research, graduation outcomes, outreach, inclusivity, and stakeholder perception.
IIM Trichy made significant gains this year on the parameters of research and professional practice and in outreach and inclusivity that have reflected in its performance in the NIRF 2020 Ranking, which saw participation from 3,800 institutes. IIM Trichy has also made significant progress in increasing its student strength (which includes the number of Ph.D. students), improving student to faculty ratio, expanding its revenue sources through management development programmes and utilisation of the resources for pursuing growth and improving student learning experience. The ranking has also reiterated the very high perception of IIM Trichy (6th among all IIMs) with academic peers, recruiters and students.
Commenting on this achievement, Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Trichy, said, “IIM Trichy has also planned several initiatives for the forthcoming academic year that includes the launch of a two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management-Human Resources (MBA in HR) and a host of online-based certification programmes that will help IIM Trichy to reach out to more aspirants that desire quality management education. These initiatives are expected to support IIM Tiruchirappalli’s efforts to become recognised one of the top management institutions in the country.
