IIMA placements: HUL, C K Birla, Samsung top recruiters in cluster 2

The second cluster comprised of six cohorts including advertising and media, consumer goods, and so on

The Cluster 2 of the final placement of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) saw Bharti Enterprise, Five Holdings as new recruiters to pick the management talent from the institute on Friday.

Consumer goods major Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and Samsung Electronics, CK Birla Group made the highest number of offers at six each including the pre-placement offers. This was closely followed by Lenovo making five offers in the cluster 2 placements for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) class of 2021.

Six cohorts

The second cluster comprised of six cohorts including advertising and media, consumer goods, consumer services, consumer electronics, general management and leadership, and retail B2B and B2C companies. The consumer goods, consumer services and consumer electronics cohorts included regular recruiters like Asian Paints, CavinKare, HUL, Indigo, ITC, Lenovo, Nestle, Reckitt Benckiser, Samsung Electronics, Tata Sky, and Wipro Consumer Care.

In the general management and leadership cohort, regular recruiters such as the CK Birla Group, Reliance Industries Limited and RPG Group made the offers. In the retail B2B and B2C cohort firms such as eShakti, Grofers India Private Limited, and Flipkart were among others.

Diverse sectors

Having always had a healthy mix of diverse cohorts, a variety of roles were offered across geographies (including UAE) during cluster 2, IIMA informed in a statement. Consumer goods firms extended the highest number of offers, closely followed by general management and leadership firms. This is a reaffirmation of the quality of the MBA programme at IIMA, it added.

The cluster 1 of the final placement process was held on March 3 which saw firms from four cohorts — investment banking and markets, management consulting, advisory consulting and private equity, venture capital and asset management.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic related restrictions and social distancing norms, IIMA is conducting the entire placement process virtually this year. Recruiters and students will be participating in the process virtually. The cluster 3 will be held on March 8, 2021.
