IIMA summer placement concludes with TCS as top recruiter

In third cluster, RBI, Walmart, DuPont, Purplle.com participate for the first time

The third cluster of the Summer Placements for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) class of 2022 of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), saw Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as the top recruiter with 15 offers.

Over 50 firms participated in the Cluster 3 of the placements held on Monday. With this, IIM Ahmedabad declared conclusion of the summer placement process for 2020.

In the third cluster, the firms that participated via online mode comprised 11 cohorts, including banking & insurance, financial services, consumer technology, core manufacturing & infrastructure, education tech, enterprise tech, food & dairy, Govt. enterprises, analytics & IT consulting, renewable energy & green tech and social enterprises & NGOs.

Among the new recruiters were Atlassian, BPCL, DuPont, Everest Instruments, Oracle, Unacademy and Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The consumer tech cohort comprised firms like Info Edge, People Interactive, Razorpay and PayU. Vedanta was the highest recruiter in the core manufacturing and infrastructure cohort with six offers, an IIM-A statement said.

The enterprise tech cohort saw companies like Adobe, Atlassian Corporation, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle and Sprinklr making the offers. In the renewable energy & green tech cohort, Amplus Solar and ReNew Power participated, while banking & insurance sector saw participation from organisations like the RBI, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Earlier, a large pool of 40 firms participated online in Cluster 2, where Amazon made the maximum ― 14 ― offers from the retail B2B and B2C cohort, followed by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) at 13 offers.

The Summer Placements had begun on December 1 with 50 recruiters, including top global players, participating in the first cluster. Bain & Company made the most number of offers at 20, followed by The Boston Consulting Group with 19 offers.

IIM Ahmedabad follows a cluster-cohort-based placement process wherein companies offering similar profiles are grouped into cohorts, and several cohorts are invited to the campus in a particular cluster. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the entire placement process was held virtually this year.
