IIMB tops in Bengaluru semi-finals

A team comprising the trio of Chandrasekar T, Chithra R and Vijay S from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) won the Bengaluru leg of the BLoC Boardroom Challenge 2020. It was a clean sweep for IIMB as the runner up too is from IIMB with Nidhi Ashok, Sanjana V Kulkarni and Pranave Nanda the team members.

The contest featured four teams in the Bengaluru round round. ICFAI Business School (IBS) with Uday Kiran Kalyanam and Vivek Ojha was the second runners-up while CMRIT, with team members Mansi Sharma, Deepak S and Pooja BC, coming in fourth.

The students had to present a branding strategy for an FMCG brand and also discuss how this brand could shore up its falling market shares in emerging categories.

The teams were scored on their understanding and analysis of the case, the case solution, their presentations and also on team work. The winning team from IIMB will now meet the winners of the semi-finals from other eight cities in the finals.

The jury for the semi-finals comprised KS Rao, Senior Vice President & Head, Investor Education & Distribution Development, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd, Vishwadeep Kuila of marketing consultancy Brand Vectors and Lokeshwarri SK, Associate Editor, currently heading Business Line's data research vertical.
