IIML and Danish Univ to conduct joint research on healthcare

The project on ‘Innovative Healthcare Collaboration' will start on Saturday

Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L) and Aalborg University, Denmark, will inaugurate a new research project titled ‘Innovative Healthcare Collaboration' with a workshop on Saturday, May 9. The project will bring together researchers from both the institutions and has the financial backing from Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation and IIM Lucknow.

The research project will focus on identifying collaboration and coordination challenges to inter-organisational healthcare supply chain processes and innovative solutions to address those challenges.

Indian and Danish hospitals are selected because they provide two unique settings for studying innovative healthcare collaboration: Indian hospitals have to provide low-cost care to large population; and Danish hospitals have to develop collaboration that involves other sectors like municipalities in order to, for example, provide care to an aging population.

The researchers come from the Center for Industrial Production, Aalborg University and the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. The researchers are experts on hospital collaboration and coordination, hospital operations management and supply chains.

As the first step, the partnering institutions will organise the workshop at New Delhi with delegates from AIIMS New Delhi, King George Medical University in Lucknow, Narayana Health, ikureTechSoft, and Dr Lal Path Labs among others.
