IIMU becomes national finalists in Global Management Challenge

Seven teams from IIM Udaipur reached the national qualifiers round out of 54 teams

In the strategy and management competition, Global Management Challenge (GMC) organised by SDG- Simuladores e Modelos de Gestão, IIM Udaipur became the national finalists for GMC India 2020. GMC consists of a management simulation where corporates and B-schools participate as teams and manage a virtual company for over five weeks. Their target is to achieve the highest investment performance for the company’s shareholders. In this year’s management competition where all top B-schools of India, including IIMs participated, seven teams from IIM Udaipur reached the national qualification round, out of the 54 shortlisted. Further, eight teams were declared as the national finalists, out of which IIMU GSCM (Global Supply Chain Management) was one of them.  

Prof Janat Shah, Director, IIM Udaipur added, “It is heartening to see our efforts towards developing the entrepreneurial capabilities of our students translating into such wonderful results. We are committed to developing managers and entrepreneurs who will be tomorrow’s leaders. This prestigious accomplishment is important for the Institute as we work towards our 2030 vision of being a Global Management School.”

With 40 editions of GMC, there are about 30,000 participants globally from over 35 countries that take part in the competition every year. GMC India 2020 is a ten-week long competition that commenced on September 18. The competition featured 3,516 students and corporate managers and 768 teams from the field of academia and corporates.
