IMI-Kolkata commences new session with more students

International Management Institute - Kolkata (IMI-K) commenced its new session in presence of veteran theatre personality Rudraprasad Sengupta and his team ‘Nandikar’. Prof. Arindam Banik, Director, IMI-K said, “We are happy to announce that 172 students are joining the institute’s PGDM programme, batch of 2018-2020. IMI-Kolkata has also introduced a new section of students for the PGDM programme’s upcoming batch, with an additional strength of approximately 60, over last year.”

The institute hosted a one-of-its-kind orientation ceremony with Sengupta’s team Nandikar having planned a workshop for the new students. The theme of the workshop was “Nothing But TRUTH”. The two-day workshop will aim to enhance communication between students and encourage team work and is designed to help students shed their inhibitions.

The chief guest of the orientation programme Rudraprasad Sengupta is a Bengali actor, director and cultural critic. He leads a theatre group named Nandikar Sengupta received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1980.

The IMI-Kolkata campus in Alipore, spread over nearly three acres, was established in 2010 to provide opportunities to learn, grow, and develop multiple skills across various disciplines of Management. Centrally located, the Kolkata campus is also equipped with residential facilities. The Institute’s Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is accredited by the National Board of Accreditations (NBA). The Institute also offers an AICTE-approved full-time Fellowship Programme in Management (FPM).

Currently, IMI-Kolkata has active academic and research collaborations with the University of Tours, University of Bordeaux, and ESC Rennes School of Business in France, as also Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) and Kunning University of Science & Technology in China, to name a few.

The institute also awarded the Dr Rama Prasad Goenka Merit Scholarship to some current second year students. Gaurav Guha received the highest scholarship of ₹75,000. Saptarshi Roy and Tirthakamal Nath were also recipients of the scholarship.
