IMI Kolkata completes summer placements; highest stipend is ₹2 lakh

More than 39 recruiters such as JSW, Amazon and Max Life Insurance participated

International Management Institute Kolkata (IMI Kolkata) concluded the summer placement drive for the PGDM batch 2019-21 comprising 180 students. More than 39 recruiters including JSW, Amazon, Max Life Insurance, Allied Blenders and Distillers Pvt Ltd (ABD), Reserve Bank of India and SAGE Publications participated. The placement season also saw several offers for consulting roles. The highest stipend offered was ₹2 lakh.

IMI Kolkata witnessed participation from 23 first-time recruiters such as Amazon, Dabur, Spencer’s, Exide Life Insurance, Outlook Group, Dr. Vaidya’s, Nephroplus, Jaro Education, Arohan Financial Services and Think Through Consulting. The operations and HR domains witnessed a surge this year with companies such as Amazon, CESC, TATA AIA Life, Peepal Consulting and Black Turtle offering roles in these areas.

Major brands such as Reliance Retail, Kantar, McVitie’s, Bajaj Finserv, Exide Life Insurance, Motilal Oswal, Phillip Capital, India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL), Get My Uni, IDBI Federal Life Insurance, V Comply — Kariwala Group, Fab Hotels, Jaquar Group and Business Economics participated in the recruitment process.

Top segment roles

With a 16 per cent increase in batch size from the previous year, the institute placed its batch of 180 students with gender diversity of 48 per cent. The average stipend for the top 10 percentile students was ₹47,778 and top 25 percentile students was ₹30,511. All the figures are for the entire duration of the internship excluding benefits such as boarding and lodging, and travel. The top segment roles offered were market research, business development, sales and Marketing and BFSI.

During the academic year, IMI Kolkata has been ranked 45th in NIRF rankings (Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India) and has achieved re-accreditation status from National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
