Conducted Regional Chapter Meets for alumni members at Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi

IMI Kolkata has conducted four Regional Chapter Meets (RCM) for its alumni members in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi, over a period of two months between February and March this year.

As part of driving alumni engagement, the institue set upon conducting the RCM, subsequent to the Fifth National Alumni Meet (NAM) which was held on December 8, 2018.

With 345 alumni members spread pan-India, the RCM locations were selected based on the number of alumni present in a city. Bengaluru and Hyderabad were the two newly added venues to the list, which already had Mumbai and Delhi.

The Mumbai Chapter Meet was conducted on February 2 this year, following which the IMI Kolkata Alumni Body established its presence in Bengaluru. In quick succession the Hyderabad Chapter Meet, was conducted for the first time on March 2, and within a fortnight, the final RCM was organised in Delhi.

In a semi-formal setting, Prof Banik delivered the welcome address speaking on the short-term and the long-term blueprint for the institute. In the interactions, the professors shared the current progress of IMI Kolkata, while the alumni shared their experiences, provided insights from the industry, suggestions on curriculum design in line with changing needs of the industry. The alumni discussed on contributing back to their institute, especially to the alumni-student mentor-mentee relationships, through training their juniors on campus.
