ISB figures in FT 2019 top 100 global executive MBA rankings

The only B-school to be listed from India, its PGPMAX for senior executives ranks 52nd

In the Financial Times Global EMBA 2019 Rankings, the Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Senior Executives (PGPMAX) of the Indian School of Business (ISB) is ranked 52nd among the top 100 global EMBAs. It is the only business school to be listed from India. ISB has participated in the FT EMBA rankings for the first time this year.

According to Dr Philip Zerrillo, Deputy Dean ISB, “This is a great step forward for a young programme such as ours. To be ranked so highly in our first attempt really demonstrates how responsive the school, its faculty and management have been in creating a programme for India’s emerging senior talent pool. This ranking demonstrates that PGPMAX is recognised as a global programme.”

The school and the programme are judged on various parameters for these rankings. In terms of career progress, the school is ranked at 74, with 65 per cent of its PGPMAX alumni fulfilling their goals with an average 43 per cent as the salary increase. The salary increase is measured based on the average difference between alumni salary before the EMBA and now.

With its two international immersions, PGPMAX is ranked at 27 in the international course experience, which measures the classroom teaching hours conducted outside the country. The school is also ranked high on the faculty parameters, with 15 per cent of ISB’s faculty being citizens from other countries and 98 per cent of the full-time faculty holding doctorates.

“We are happy to see ISB’s PGPMAX as 52nd in the Financial Times Global EMBA programme in our maiden participation. This achievement is especially noteworthy as we are the only business school from India ranked within the Top 100. We do very well on factors such as experience, international exposure and compensation levels of our graduates. However, we need to improve on gender diversity and attracting foreign students. We look forward to improving our future position as our efforts to increase diversity have been fruitful. We are proud of our global positioning and will continue to work harder with industry and government to enhance our global presence,” said Dean Rajendra Srivastava.

ISB’s Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Senior Executives (PGPMAX) is a 15-month programme, specially designed for experienced working professionals with 10-20 years of experience and is distinct from full-time, part-time and weekend MBA programmes. The class comprises C-level Executives, Directors, Country Heads and Business Owners who add diversity and contribute to an enriching learning experience.

ISB offers a mature teaching environment and boasts of senior faculty members with extensive teaching and industry experience. It takes participants through a global experience as the programme provides two international immersions — a week’s immersion in the US and a second week of international immersion conducted somewhere in Asia.
