Jalaj Dani is IIM Trichy’s New Chairman

Asian Paints co-promoter associated with educational, philanthropic activities

IIM Trichy welcomed its newly appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors, Jalaj Dani. He visited the campus for the first time on September 24. Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Trichy, received Mr Dani at IIM Trichy campus and introduced him to the members of the institute's faculty. This was followed by a meeting with the activity heads.

Dani is a co-promoter of Asian Paints and has served the company for over two decades in various capacities. He is also a member of the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) and a part of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushalya Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) Steering Committee, both of which function under Government's Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. He serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Havells India Ltd.

Over the last eight years, he has devoted significant time in philanthropic activities which, he believes, are crucial for shaping society. He personally overseas initiatives in education (touching the lives of more than 10,000 students in rural Gujarat), infant and women's health (working with more than 800 health workers in two districts of Gujarat) and skilling sports professionals (physical education teachers) in high-performance coaching and support services.

Speaking during his visit to IIM-T, Dani said: “It’s an honour to be appointed as the Chairman of IIM Trichy, a fast-growing institute. With the kind of autonomy that the Ministry has imparted, we can take this institute to newer heights.”
