Jindal University signs MOU with Tsinghua University

Tsinghua University's Law School already has tie-up with Jindal Global Law School

The Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA) of O. P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has signed an MoU with the School of Social Sciences (SSS), Tsinghua University, China to foster collaboration for joint research, student exchange and semester-abroad programmes.

The first joint initiative under this collaboration will see 20 students from Tsinghua University travelling to India in January 2016 for a two-week India immersion certificate course to be held at the JGU campus.

The MOU was signed during a visit to JGU by Shi Zhiqin, Dean of Institute of International Studies and Chairman, School Council of Social Sciences at Tsinghua University; and Zhang Chuanjie, Associate Dean, Office of International Cooperation & Exchange and Director, Doctoral Programme in Developing Country Studies, Tsinghua University.

“It’s an opportunity for Chinese students to visit an Indian campus to learn about Indian society, economy, politics and foreign policy," said Shi of Tsinghua University in a statement.

“This agreement of cooperation will bring Indian and Chinese youth together for broad exchange of views and opinions on bilateral relations, and also help mold future leaders of Asia,” said Sreeram Sundar Chaulia, Professor and Dean of JSIA.

“Hosting Chinese students in Indian Universities will serve as a foundation for a deeper people to people understanding and ultimately improve their ties which are crucial for the stability of Asia.”

The Tsinghua University's Law School already has a tie-up with the Jindal Global Law School.

The agreement provides for exchange of faculty members, exchange of students for a full semester and short-term certificate courses, joint research projects on China-India relations, joint conferences and joint curricular activities.
