Listen to music in your head, Munjal tells ISB leadership conclave

Tells participants to do what they love and love what they do; talks about changing employment scenario

The annual flagship event of ISB’s post graduate programme in management for working professionals (PGPpro)- ‘Abhyudaya 2020’, which was organised the e-way, evoked a good response from the participants, says a press release from ISB. The second leg of the conclave is slated for July 11, 2020.

Discussions and insights were woven around the theme of the conclave- ‘Building the plane as you fly.” Experts and thought leaders from industry and academia shared their insights on purpose-driven leadership, entrepreneurship, current and emerging industry trends - challenges and opportunities, skills required for the new normal, technological innovations.

Nimble decision-making

The event kick-started with virtual lamp lighting and an inaugural session by Prof Milind Sohoni, Deputy Dean, ISB. He shared his perspective on the importance of robust, resilient, yet nimble decision-making processes and adapting and leveraging new evolutions along the way.

Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Hero Corporate Service Ltd, in his address brought to fore the changing employment scenarios and shared his insights and experiences on enduring and inspirational leadership. His message to the participants was - listen to the music in your head, do what you love and love what you do.

Pankaj Rai, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Wells Fargo, highlighted his four theories of networking/role-modeling - evolving gender roles, ensuring health and fitness, having a career of choice and leading a life you want and a thought-provoking conjecture of finding your purpose and aligning it with your identity to lead a frictionless life!

Unprecedented times

The programme was also marked by a plenary session on strategies that sail through unprecedented times, where leaders from four different segments Tarun Katial, CEO, ZEE5 India, Swarup Mohanty, CEO, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Pvt. Ltd, Unny Radhakrishnan, CEO, Digitas India and Madhusudan Deshpande, Managing Director, India & APAC at Luxoft shared their thoughts and perspectives and offered new insights and suggested the way forward.

ISB’s PGP in management for working professionals (PGPpro), is a weekend executive MBA-equivalent programme, designed to meet career-consolidation goals of mid-career working professionals. It is a first off-campus programme from ISB currently being offered in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. The programme allows professionals to gain deep strategy and leadership insights, specialise in either finance or marketing, enhance their decision-making abilities as well as strengthen managerial skills.
