MAHE comes second in QS World University Ranking in India

MAHE figures in the 751-800 band among 1,300 institutions ranked from 93 countries

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is ranked as the second top-ranked private university in India according to the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Ranking 2022. In the 18th edition of the rankings, MAHE figures in the 751-800 band, among 1,300 institutions ranked from 93 countries.

For the Quacquarelli Symonds, World University Ranking universities are evaluated on six performance indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, student-to-faculty ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio.

A press statement by MAHE said that four of the indicators are based on hard data, and the remaining two are based on major global surveys — one of the academics and another of employers. For the 2022 rankings, QS has analyzed over 96 million citations from more than 14.7 million recorded publications before evaluating 1,300 universities.

Delighted top management

Quoting HS Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of MAHE, the statement said: “I am extremely delighted to see that Manipal Academy of Higher Education is one of the top-rated universities among all universities in India and securing the second top-ranked private university in India according to the 18th edition of Quacquarelli Symonds World University Ranking 2022. Our university has lived up to our expectations. It is indeed a great honour for us. We hope to hold on to the position with the hard work of the faculty and students.”

Lt Gen (retd) MD Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor of MAHE, said MAHE’s goal will always be to work towards excellence and to reach the very top. “We will continue our onward progress towards higher rankings while providing quality education and infrastructure to our faculty and students,” he said.
