Marketing jobs students’ choice at IIM Raipur

Operations and General Management come second

IIM Raipur has recently released its placement report for the 2015 batch of 119 students. A total of 120 companies expressed interest in the final process this year, and the highest domestic package drawn was ₹21.76 lakh. The average salary offered at the institute stood at ₹11.14 lakh.

The highest international salary offered was ₹32.55 lakh with 7 international offers. About 12 students have received pre-placement offers/interviews. Majority of the offers (42 per cent) came from the Marketing domain, followed by Operations and General Management roles (25 per cent). About 17 per cent of the batch received Consulting roles, and 14 per cent of the batch bagged Finance profiles.

The major highlight of the placement was overwhelming response from some of the first time recruiters including Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, DS Group, E&Y, Future Group, HDFC bank, ICICI Prudential, Idea Cellular, L&T, Motilal Oswal, SBI, Virtusa, and Wipro.

The placement process was completed in February, according to the institute, and the official report has released now after it went through a stringent validation internally.

Summer Placements

The institute has witnessed a sizzling summer placements season too. The highest domestic stipend this year is ₹1.2 lakh, and the highest international stipend stands at ₹2.4 lakh.

Major recruiters who hired interns from the B-School are Asian Paints, BPCL, Britannia, Dabur, DCM Shriram, Emami, Future Group, Godrej & Boyce, Finnacle Capital, Fitch Ratings (India Ratings), Hero MotoCorp, ICICI Bank, IOCL, JSPL, JSW Steel, RBI, SEBI, and Tata Steel etc.

This year, students bagged international internships offered by Ernst & Young and Tata International.

Most internships were offered in the Marketing (53 per cent) domain, about 15 per cent internship in Finance. About 14 per cent were in Operations and 13 per cent in Consulting/General Management/Analytics.
