Says she is ‘delighted that in India scholars are appreciated for their diligent work’

Professor Dr. Varsha Jain, faculty at MICA was awarded the Prof. Indira Parikh ‘Top 50 Women in Education’ Award on July 5 at Taj, Mumbai, India. Prof Indira Parikh is the former founder president of FLAME (Foundation for Liberal and Management Education) Institute. She was the dean of IIM Ahmedabad from 2002 to 2005 and had been a faculty member at IIM-A for over 30 years. Prof Parikh has also taught at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, and Texas A&M University

Other female professors based out of Australia, Dubai, Malaysia, and many other places were also awarded.

When asked about her journey and what the award meant to her, Dr Jain said: “I am overwhelmed with the help and support that MICA has provided at every stage of my research journey. This award means a lot for me as I invested around 10 hours every day, diligently, on scholarship and publications. This is the result of consistent hard work which I have undertaken over the past eight and a half years, after completing PhD. It is very challenging, as a scholar, to manage quality and quantity in research projects. When these efforts are appreciated and recognised in your country, it makes me proud. I feel motivated and inspired. I am delighted that in India scholars are appreciated for their diligent work.”
