Nirma University placements see a jump in pay packages across institutes

Nirma University's Institute of Technology has registered a 90 per cent increase in the annual package at its campus placements for the graduating batch of 2022. The university saw top recruiters such as Bloomberg UK, Amazon, American Express, Goldman Sachs, Media.net, NVidia, Qualcomm, Reliance Industries, Deutsche Bank, ZS Associates and Flipkart across domains.

The university's constituent institutes witnessed a significant increase in the highest salary offered to the students. This comes in the backdrop of the Covid-19 impact, a press release from the university said.

"The Institute of Technology this year had the highest package at ₹88.21 lakh per annum (LPA) offered by Bloomberg UK to an undergraduate student. This year’s highest package was 90 per cent more than that of the last year’s package of ₹46.47 LPA," the statement said.

Anup K Singh, Director General, Nirma University said, "The placement scenario post-Covid has witnessed revenge hiring. This trend may continue at least for another two years. Then it will stablise."

Engineering discipline

In the other disciplines of academics, the highest salary offered for MCA and MTech graduates is ₹14.02 LPA and ₹22.47 LPA, respectively, a significant improvement over last year’s highest package, it added.

The average salary for BTech graduates stood at ₹7.82 LPA, MCA at ₹4.59 LPA, and MTech at ₹8.87 LPA.

"All the streams saw an improvement over last year’s average package. The undergraduates in computer science and engineering received the maximum offers from the recruiters," a press release statement said, adding that as many as 596 students were offerred jobs from 124 participating companies.

The profiles offered by the companies are that of software developers, site reliability engineers, graduate engineering trainee, consultant, supply chain management and more.

For the university's Institute of Management, top recruiter Morgan Stanley offered the highest package of ₹26 LPA to four candidates. The compensations rose remarkably over last year’s highest package of ₹18 LPA.

The 2022 placements also had eight students receive ₹23 LPA offered by IT/ITES firms, thus breaking previous historical records.

The average salary for the institute rose to ₹10.50 LPA, indicating a 15 per cent increase over last year. The median salary also rose from ₹9 LPA to ₹10 LPA.

Management discipline

The students of the Institute of Management received offers in the roles of analyst, product managers, relationship managers, and senior associate consultants.

Companies making the offers belonged to a variety of sectors including consulting, automobile, BFSI, FMCG, social media, logistics, and power.

The recruitment drive saw that companies were interested in marketing as a specialisation followed by finance, human resource management and operations.

Other institutes at the university, including the Institute of Law, pharmacy, science, commerce, architecture and design witnessed an overwhelming response from their respective recruiters that reflects the quality of students, academic rigour and the brand value of the university, the statement said.
