NSE launches PGP in Financial Markets

Classes for National Stock Exchange's full-time PG programme for graduates will start in July

National Stock Exchange has launched a full-time Post Graduate Programme in Global Financial Markets (PGP-GFM), for which classes will be held in New Delhi from July 27. Graduates with 50 per cent marks and who have qualified in CAT, GMAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA are eligible to apply. Those who have not appeared for these tests can appear for the online test to be held by NSE between June 23 and June 27in 154 centres across the country. The last date for applications is June 22.

PGP-GFM is a highly specialised programme that will teach a globally benchmarked curriculum and offer 14 international regulatory certifications from the US, Singapore and India.

Participants will develop skills to handle international clients and be exposed to best market practices during the one week Singapore Immersion programme. Singapore is ranked number one globally for ease of doing business and has one of the strongest and most robust international financial centres.

The programme offers multiple career options in financial markets (the US, Singapore and India) in banking and financial institutions, asset management companies, consulting firms, private equity, venture capitalist, regulators, credit rating agencies, hedge funds, etc.

There are large numbers of captive units of MNCs, KPOs, business process management units, custodians, pension funds etc in the financial market domain catering to clients in the US, UK and Singapore (which will come up in GIFT and are currently operating in India).

These companies are registered with FINRA/MAS (the US and Singapore’s regulatory authorities) and require financial market professionals for serving their US and international clients. FINRA and MAS certified professionals are in high demand and get lucrative packages and attractive work profiles because these are skills very few professionals have acquired.

PGP-GFM students can opt for five FINRA/MAS examinations.

The final selection will be based on test score, academic profile and interview. Persons with professional qualification and experience will be given preference.
