Pandemic developed resilience in students: ISRO chief

Dr K Sivan addressed the graduating batch at the 11th convocation of KL Deemed to be University.

KL Deemed to be University held its 11th convocation and conferred 3,650 degrees to graduating students.  ISRO Chairman Dr K Sivan, was the chief guest while VOLVO Group- India President & MD, Kamal Bali, Viswa Vikhyaatha Pravachanakartha, and Brahmasri Chaganti Koteswara Rao were the guests of honour. Founder of Silicon Andhra Kuchibhotla Anand was the special guest at the occasion.

Undergraduate degrees such as BTech, BCom, BBA, BCA, BSc, BA, BPharm, BArch, BBA-LLB, and postgraduate degrees such as MTech, MBA, MSc, and MA, were awarded. University chancellor Dr S S Mantha conferred degrees to 3,525 graduate and postgraduate students, 125 doctoral degrees (PhD), 40 gold medals, and 40 silver medals.

Valuable lessons

Addressing the graduates, Dr K Sivan said: “The pandemic has given aspiring leaders the opportunity to develop resilience and immense readiness for challenges. With an university like KL, where you’re endowed with all the right facilities for R&D, there is real opportunity for innovation and growth. I am keen to witness the seeds of the University germinate into resourceful professionals.”

Delivering the convocation address, Univeristy president Koneru Satyanarayana said, “The students are our living legacies and we feel a collective sense of pride for all that they’ve accomplished under the duress of the pandemic. I look forward to a time when we can come together, once again, as a university to revel with the accomplishments and strides of our incredible students.”
