Dr Pawan Kumar Singh took charge as the Director of IIM Trichy on February 3. Utilising the current strengths of the institute to proliferate future growth in terms of expansion and specialisation would be his vision for IIM Trichy, he said, during inauguration. He also aims to increase the quality of current pedagogy, explore new programmes, and increase intake, while highlighting the importance of collaborations between industries and academic institutions.
With over three decades of experience in the academic arena, he brings a seasoned perspective to one of the premier institutes in India. Singh was formerly the Director of MDI Gurgaon. He has also served as Director-in-charge of IIM Indore and Chairperson of the Academic Committee of IIM Sambalpur.
The new Director encouraged students to focus on health and fitness for holistic development, and inaugurated a gymnasium at a cost of more than ₹43 lakh, featuring a wide array of gym equipment for students.
