The team from PES University, Bengaluru, won the grand finale of the 17th edition of TA Pai Management Institute’s (TAPMI) annual ‘Quiz on the Beach’ (QoTB) on January 19. The quiz was held at Malpe beach in Udupi district.
Preetham Upadhya and Akhil Siddharth represented PES University, Bengaluru. PES secured the first place for the second year in a row. Jay Rana and Siddharth Mishra from NMIMS, Mumbai, were the runners up.
The finalists were from the Osmania Medical College; the Delhi School of Economics; University College, Thiruvananthapuram; NMIMS; PES University; IMNU (Institute of Management, Nirma University), Ahmedabad; Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal; and TAPMI.
Students from over 400 institutes took part in the quiz. A statement said here that the qualifier rounds witnessed tough competition with 1,500 quizzers participating.
Sanjay Chougule, Group Chief Internal Auditor and Group Head Financial Crime Prevention, ICICI Bank Ltd, Mumbai, distributed the prizes on the occasion.
The institute donated ₹25,000 to ‘Hosabelaku Orphanage’ in Manipal as part of a community initiative of QoTB in partnership with the Rotary Udupi Royal.
