School for Social Entrepreneurs honours 17 Fellows

Start-up fellowship programme felicitates participants for their ideas on building a better society

The graduation ceremony of the third edition of the Social Start-up Fellowship Programme, an initiative of PwC India and the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE), in association with BIMTECH, Concentrix and FXBIS, saw 17 Fellows being felicitated for their ideas on building a better society.

The Fellows worked in areas ranging from mental health and empowerment of women to skill development, disability and technology.

“With this programme, the aim is to reduce the inequities that exist in society and come up with more sustainable models to address some of India's social problems,” said Jaivir Singh, Chairman, School for Social Entrepreneurs.

He added that it is necessary to bring enterprise to the table because, if there is no business model that creates surpluses, one cannot hope for a sustainable model for the future.

The SSE was started in 2016 to support individuals who want to build social enterprises and community organisations through unique action-learning courses.
