SPJIMR sweeps Mumbai leg

The trio of Priyanka Gautam, Shikhar Mohan Srivastava and Vishal Sardana from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) won the Mumbai leg of the BLoC Boardroom Challenge semi-finals 2020.

Four teams competed in the Mumbai semi-finals. It was a clean sweep for SPJIMR as the runner-up was also from SPJIMR. The team comprised Sharanga Bora and Sagnik Adhikary. They beat two teams from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). An IIMA team comprising Navneet Vaniya and Saket Kodam finished third while Nilesh Agarwalla, Ketan Mundhada and Shivani Munot from IIMA came in fourth.

The students had to present a branding strategy for an FMCG brand and also discuss how this brand could shore up its falling market shares in emerging categories.

The teams were scored on their understanding and analysis of the case, the case solution, their presentations and also on team work. The winning team from SPJIMR will now meet the winners of the semi-finals from other eight cities in the finals.

The jury for the for the Mumbai semi-finals were KS Rao, Senior Vice President & Head, Investor Education & Distribution Development, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd; Vishwadeep Kuila of Brand Vectors and Sudhakar Rao, Branding Director, ICFAI group.
