Start-ups and Business Ideas get a platform at IIMA’s Masterplan 2015

Event saw participation from 550 teams this year

IIM, Ahmedabad’s flagship annual business plan Masterplan - 2015 was organised during Confluence 2015 and sawparticipation from 550 teams (250 start-ups, 300 college teams) from across India, this year. The overall event had 4 sub-competitions: business startups, social startups, business ideas and social ideas.

The preliminary rounds consisted of a '3 Tweets' round in which participants had to explain their business plan within the length of three tweets, which is roughly 420 characters; a 'Video' round in which teams created videos of their business idea/startup; and a 'Business Plan submission' in which teams submitted their business plans for evaluation.

All rounds were evaluated by experienced investors, entrepreneurs and industry professionals. Teams, from the business plan stage onwards, were regularly mentored by venture capitalists and angel investors on possible improvements to their business plans. After a rigorous evaluation, the final 20 teams have been selected (5 from each arena), with 10 running start-ups and the rest are start-up ideas in advanced stages. They will compete in the grand finale at IIM Ahmedabad on November 28 and 29.

The networking event will be conducted at Hyatt, Ahmedabad with all other events being hosted on the IIM Ahmedabad campus. The events will be attended by venture capitalists, angel investors, national finalists, IIM-A professors, CIIE experts and students.
