The stipend offered at IIM Ranchi for a two-month summer internship has jumped by 24.4 per cent this year and was pegged at ₹72,000. A total of 71 firms hired from the campus, making 180 offers to 167 students during the recently concluded summer placement process.
The process witnessed about 38 first-time recruiters this year. Two students received international internship opportunities.
Most internships were offered in the sales & marketing domain with HT Media, Snapdeal, Berger Paints, Volvo Eicher and Tupperware emerging as top summer recruiters.
ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RPG Enterprises, Aviva and Aditya Birla Online Fashion offered diverse roles in finance for internship.
Strategy and consulting also witnessed participation from Deloitte, Ernst & Young, RPG, Polaris India and Bosch. PwC Management Consulting offered its strategy & operations profile for the first time to IIM Ranchi students.
Samsung R&D, Google, Microsoft, Wipro and ICICI Bank offered IT and analytics profiles. General management and operations profiles were offered by ITC, Tata Steel, JSPL and Metro Cash & Carry.
PGDHRM 2015-17
A total of 29 firms offered summer internships to 48 PGDHRM students this year. The two-month average stipend witnessed a jump of 30.5 per cent for the HRM batch, raising the amount to ₹73,200.
The internship profiles offered included HR generalist, compensation & benefits, industrial relations, talent management, organisational development and the much sought after HR analytics. As a first, Honeywell offered its prestigious HR Leadership programme to IIM Ranchi students.
