TAPMI plans course in marketing & sales management

It will be a two-year, full-time PGDM programme

The Manipal-based TA Pai Institute of Management (TAPMI) has proposed to launch a two-year, full-time PGDM (post-graduate diploma in management) programme in Marketing and Sales Management.

This was announced at the inauguration of the urban format of the market research fair — BrandScan — in Bengaluru. Madhu Veeraraghavan, Director of TAPMI, inaugurated the event.

A press release said that the proposed PGDM in Marketing and Sales Management, which will be a residential programme, is targeted at people who work in sales and marketing. It aims to bridge the demand-supply gap in the market for a fully-loaded sales management programme, it said. However, the release said that the course is subject to approval from the All-India Council for Technical Education.

Speaking during the inauguration of BrandScan, Madhu Veeraraghavan said that the idea of the fair is to obtain unbiased and natural responses of customers through innovative data collection methods. The market research fair is fully committed to innovation and set to make a huge impact globally, he said.

Simon George, Dean (Academics) of TAPMI, said market research is the soul or backbone of any industry. It should be considered as a continuous process and not just a one-time activity, he said.
