TAPMI Virtual to offer BIFM course for working executives

Programme will be delivered live to distributed classrooms in 27 cities

The Manipal-based TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), which has announced the launch of ‘TAPMI Virtual Executive Learning’ for working executives, will offer a post-graduate certificate programme in Banking, Insurance and Financial Markets (BIFM) as its first programme.

The programme will be delivered through synchronous and live modes to distributed classrooms across 27 cities.

Describing the course, Madhu Veeraraghavan, Director of TAPMI, said that the ‘TAPMI Virtual Executive Learning’ initiative is targeted at corporate executives who are keen to fast-track their careers. “This unique model of ‘learning’ and ‘applying’ concurrently is truly designed for lifelong learning. TAPMI Virtual is really the future of the classroom, reaching quality education to those who need it, wherever they are,” he said.

Video-conferencing

Meera LB Aranha, Programme Head (Banking and Financial Services), said the penetration of insurance, credit card and digital payments, and retail investment in the stock market are extremely low in the country. The entire BFSI sector is poised for a qualitative transformation and quantitative growth with increasing awareness and the presence of an enabling ecosystem, she said.

TAPMI has created a studio infrastructure on the campus, from where the faculty will deliver the programme. VC Now, technology partner of TAPMI, will deploy its video-conferencing platform to connect students at distributed classrooms across the country.

Industry experience

The programme, scheduled to commence on November 11, will have a course fee of ₹4 lakh. Applicants need to have a minimum industry experience of four years at reputed companies after graduation.

Surya Mahadevan, Chairman of TAPMI Virtual Executive Learning, said the 11-month programme will be delivered through a mix of the virtual synchronous mode, campus segment, project work and off-classroom engagements.

The campus segment will provide participants hands-on applied learning of market concepts in the finance lab through the Bloomberg and Reuters terminals. TAPMI Learning and Engagement Platform (LEAP) and Learning Tab will augment the learning of the participants, he said.
