XIM Bhubaneswar organises 10 km marathon

Aim was to promote healthier lifestyles, while spreading awareness and raising funds for a social cause

As a prelude to XIM-B’s annual cultural and business festival, Xpressions 2019, the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar organised X-Athon, a 10-kilometre marathon on October 20, with an aim to promote healthier lifestyles, while spreading awareness and raising funds for a social cause. The event, which had the theme of “Run a mile, spread a smile”, was attended by Sagarika Nath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bhubaneswar.

A total of 250 people participated. In the men’s category, Ashok Dandasena secured the first position and Rashmi Ranjan Nayak was the runners-up. In the women’s category, XIM-B Suhana Parmin won, and R Shubham Rao was the winner in the children's category.

The social responsibility cell (SRC) of XIM-B organised X-Enable in the campus tennis court, with a vision of letting the specially-abled children take flight in the field of sports. Students from schools like Chetana, Harsha Memorial and Aaina participated in various sports events such as lemon race, skipping, and basketball.
