XLRI achieves 100 per cent placements

The highest domestic offer came from the BFSI sector at over ₹50 lakh per annum

Xavier School of Management has managed to wrap up its final placement process for the 2019-21 batch comprising of 358 candidates across its flagship programs in a record two days. The final recruitment process saw participation from 108 recruiters with 370 domestic and international offers, inclusive of 23 new recruiters.

XLRI’s flagship programmes include the two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Management- Human Resource Management and the two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Management-Business Management.

The institute has registered around three per cent rise in average salary at ₹25.08 lakh per annum this year as compared to ₹24.30 lakhs per annum in 2020, said a press statement issued by XLRI. The median salary offered to the batch stood at ₹23 lakh per annum with the top tenth and 25th percentile average being ₹37.49 and ₹34.80 lakh per annum, respectively. The highest domestic offer came from the BFSI sector at over ₹50 lakh per annum. Nearly 33 per cent of the students received pre-placement offers (PPOs).

Virtual placements

“We are delighted to announce that despite the pandemic and its adverse ripple effects on the global economy, XLRI has achieved the feat of 100 per cent placements in a record time frame this year. We attribute the outstanding placements as an affirmation by the corporate world of the highly relevant management-centric education we strive to deliver to our students year after year. We had conducted the entire placement process in a virtual mode this year,” Fr P Christie S.J, Director, XLRI, said in the statement.

The top domains based on the roles offered were consulting, sales & marketing and BFSI. Consulting firms extended offers to 29 per cent of the candidates, while sales and marketing and BFSI constituted 16 per cent and 14 per cent of the roles offered to the students respectively.

“The increase in consulting roles can be attributed to a higher number of candidates opting for these roles and recognizing talent at XLRI by these firms. The increased interest is also due to the established track record of XLRI graduates over the years in prestigious management consulting firms in India and abroad,” the release said.

Top firms

Companies such as Boston Consulting Group, Bain and Co., Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Accenture Strategy, Amazon, ITC, PayTM made the highest number of offers among the regular recruiters.

Some of the new recruiters included companies such as Mastercard, DE Shaw, Airbnb, DBS Bank, Nykaa, Freshworks, ZS Associates, Tata Electronics, ProgCap, Rebel Foods and IDFC Bank, amongst others.

The institute also witnessed participation from PSUs such as Power Finance Corporation and GAIL in the final recruitment process. Some of the firms from the finance sector which participated in the recruitment process include firms such as Goldman Sachs, J.P Morgan Chase, NIIF, Citibank, Standard Chartered, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI, Edelweiss, and others. The roles offered in this domain were front end investment banking, asset management, portfolio management, global and corporate banking, wealth management, global markets, equity research, and retail banking.
