Indian Institute of Management (IIM)- Udaipur on Friday announced appointment of Pankaj Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of Zydus Cadila as the Chairman of the institute.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) made the appointment earlier this week, an official note from the institute stated.
Prior to Patel's appointment, CK Birla, Chairman of Hindustan Motors Ltd had served as the Chairman of the institute. Patel holds a Masters degree in Pharma and Pharmaceutical Technology from Gujarat University and a Law degree from University of Mumbai
Known as one of the most successful and innovative pharma entrepreneurs in India, Patel has been serving as the Senior Vice-President of Ficci since December 2015 and President of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry since 2006, the statement said.
