An MBA on campus helps you discover yourself: Chairman, TMI group

T Muralidharan says his horizons widened during his MBA at IIM-A

T Muralidharan, Executive Chairman of Hyderabad-based talent acquisition company TMI group, strongly believes that doing an MBA programme on a campus helps one discover oneself. Muralidharan, an engineer from IIT Madras and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad 1981 batch, believes that he blossomed as a person at IIM-A.

“Doing an MBA on campus is where you discover yourself. There are different courses you can take to see what you like; courses that give you an understanding of many different functions,” he says.

For Muralidharan, doing a two-year MBA after a five-year course at IIT was a revelation because he discovered that he liked finance and accounts.

“As an engineer, if you understand finance and accounts from a mathematical perspective, then you become quite good at it,” he adds.

What is a better indicator is how many recruits stay behind in a job beyond six months.
